Overview
Tamil Nadu:
It’s a state in South India Its capital and largest city is Chennai. Tamil Nadu lies in the southernmost part of the Indian Subcontinent and is bordered by the Union Territory of the Puducherry and the South Indian states of Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. It is bounded by the Eastern Ghats on the north, by the Nilgiri Mountains, the Meghamalai Hills, and Kerala on the west, by the bay of Bengal in the east, by the Gulf of Munnar and the Palk Strait on the southeast, and by the Indian Ocean on the south. The state shares a maritime border with the nation of Sri Lanka.
The state boasts some of the grand Hindu Temples built-in Dravidian Architecture. The Nilgiri Mountain Railway, Brihadishawara Temple in Thanjavur, Gangaikonda Cholapuram and the Airavatesvara Temple in Darasuram (Great Chola Temples) and the Shore Temple along with the collection of other monuments in Mamallapuram which have been declared as UNESCO world Heritage sites.

Kerala’s culture and traditions, coupled with its varied demographics, have made the state one of the most popular tourist destinations in India. Kerala’s beaches, backwaters, lakes, mountain ranges, waterfalls, ancient ports, palaces, religious institutions and wildlife sanctuaries are major attractions for both domestic and international tourists.

Day 1 – Trivandrum – Kovalam
Arrive Trivandrum. Upon arrival pickup from airport and drop to Kovalam. Upon arrival checkin at hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Kovalam: This enchanting strip of golden sands is laced with the rich greenery of coconut palms. A former fishing village, Kovalam is just 16 kms away from Trivandrum.

Day 1 – Trivandrum – Kovalam
Arrive Trivandrum. Upon arrival pickup from airport and drop to Kovalam. Upon arrival checkin at hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Kovalam: This enchanting strip of golden sands is laced with the rich greenery of coconut palms. A former fishing village, Kovalam is just 16 kms away from Trivandrum.
Day 2 – Kovalam – Kumarakom
Breakfast at hotel. Later check out and drive to Kumarakom, on arrival check in to the hotel and in the evening go on a 2-hour motor boat cruise in Lake Vembanad (on direct payment basis). Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 – Kumarakom – Thekkady
Morning breakfast at hotel followed by drive to Thekkady. On arrival checkin at hotel. Afternoon visit to Periyar wildlife. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 4 – Drive from Thekkady – Munnar (110 km/approx. 4 hours)
Today, early morning breakfast proceed to Munnar. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel. You can spend the rest of the day at your leisure.
Day 5 – Sightseeing in Munnar
After breakfast, go on a sightseeing tour of Nyamakadu Waterfalls, Anaimudy View (South India’s highest peak) and Eravikulam National Park (Rajmala), where one can see rare species of fauna such as the Mountain Goat. Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay in Munnar.
Day 6 – Munnar- Madurai (158 Kms/ 6 hrs)
Today, early morning breakfast proceed to Madurai. On your arrival, check-in at the hotel. In the afternoon, enjoy a sightseeing tour of this bustling pilgrimage city whose life revolves around the great Meenakshi Temple, which dominates the old city. This temple with its Gopurams (pyramidal gateway towers) is covered with a profusion of multi- coloured images of mystical figures, animals and gods. Also visit Tirumalai Nayak Palace and the Gandhi Museum. Thereafter, return to the hotel for your overnight stay.
Day 7 – Madurai – Pondicherry (324 Kms/ 8 – 9 Hrs)
After breakfast check out from the hotel and proceed to Pondicherry, which is a former French colony. The town still retains a French influence in its architecture, surroundings and planning. On arrival, check-in to your hotel and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay.
Day 8 – Pondicherry | Sightseeing tour
After breakfast, visit the Aurobindo Ashram founded by a Bengali philosopher, Aurobindo, in the early 20th century. In the afternoon, you will have the option to visit Auroville or relax on the beach. Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 9 – Chennai Departure
After breakfast check out form the hotel & proceed to airport/railway station for onward journey.
